Rules

There always seems to be rules. But in this case, they're to make sure the right kind of site is getting hosted. So, here they are! Make sure to read them all, because if you apply and I see more than three of these requirements aren't met, I won't host you. If it's three or less, I'll tell you about it and try to help you fix them up.

1. First of all, you MUST already have an HTML site up and running. Any kind of site will do-- blog, graphics, listing, whatever, but this does not include just a Myspace page. Myspace coding is very different from real website coding, and I want my hostees to be able to code layouts for a WEBPAGE, not just a Myspace page. Your site CAN be a distributor of Myspace graphics, I have no problem with this, but make sure you know how to make a site. But other than that, as long as it's active and you get a decent amount of hits, then that's cool. But your site has to be open (or at least open to me) so I can see your pages, your work, and all that. How am I suppose to know if I should host you if I can't see your work?

2. Whatever kind of site you own, I would really like the quality to be fairly good. That means, you make/code your own layouts, you code your own stylesheets, ABSOLUTELY NO COPY&PASTING from other peoples stuff. I know, it helps you out, but what about the person that wrote the codes? I'm sure they want to keep their coding unique. Although, it's alright if you've had permission and supply the appropriate credits.

3. Also on the topic of quality, it should be fairly well organized. As in, I can find my way around easily.

4. I want to hosts sites that can be viewed in all browsers. One of the best ways to do this is FULLY CODE all your pages, and have properly formed stylesheets. If you need help with this, I'd be more than glad to help ^__^

5. I don't want to host a site that's constantly going to be on hiatus/revamp. If you're one of those people that just don't have time for a website, I can't see why you'd want to be hosted. It's alright to want to go on revamp every once in a while, but I don't want to be hosting a site that's closed more than it's open.

6. Basically, I'm looking for a site with a lot of original and good quality content. It doesn't have to be graphics, it can be anything. It just needs to be pretty good. I'd also hope that it would be active, it doesn't need to get 10000 hits a day, just I'd like you to update at least once a week.

So now that that's all over, if you think you site still has what it takes to be hosted (PLEASE don't let those rules scare you off- if you don't have ALL of this, I can definitely help you get there!), then go to the Get Hosted page and fill out the form! And where it says 'Did you read the rules?' put 'Rules are for chumps.' If I don't see this, you don't get hosted. I need to know you've read EVERYTHING here. But just in case, keep reading, until the VERY end of the page.

If I do decide to host you, this is what you'll get:
1. A subdomain in the form of you.pixelatedstars.net.
2. 100MB of space, and lots and lots of bandwidth. I can't see you needing more than this, but if you KNOW you won't use it all, tell me how much you really need and I'll give you 10MB more just incase ^_^
3. An FTP account with a pre-picked username, and you get to pick your password.
4. A MySQL database if you so need. MySQL databases will be offered again at a later date. Sorry for the inconvenience!
5. Tech support from me. I'll do my best to help you along the way if you need it. (HELP, not MAKE YOUR SITE.)
6. Your link up on this site and on Pixelatedstars.net.

In turn, this is what you have to do for ME:
1. Link either the main Pixelatedstars.net site, or this site as your host. I'm linking you and providing you with hosting, so it's only fair.
2. If you change your e-mail, you MUST let me know, or you might not get important hostee mail.
3. When you do get hostee mail, reply to it. Be polite, or your site might accidentally dissapear if I find you're far too distant.
4. Once I host you, you'll have three months to open your site. If it isn't opened within that time, your account will be deleted.
5. If your site is inactive for over two months without notifying me or anything, I'll email you to find out what's going on. If I don't hear back from you within another month, your site will simply be deleted. I'm sorry, but if you don't have time for your site, you shouldn't be using up someone elses webspace.
6. If ANY stolen content is found at all, your site will be deleted within a week. I don't want to hear the "I forgot to credit them" excuse. It's your job as a web owner to take responsability and remember that.
7. I would apreciate if you DID NOT put ads on your site. I don't pay for this site, and you don't either, so there's no reason for you to be making a profit off of Jade or myself.
8. If anything else about your site displeases me, I'll let you know and expect it to be resolved. You actually read this far? In that case, rules are for champs. That's right, put in 'Rules are for champs' if you've read this far instead.

If I don't decide to host you, I'll tell you how you can improve your site, and also give you the links to some other sites that are currently hosting, so you can check in with them as well. But if you take my advice with improving, then feel free to apply again! I'd most likely accept if your site has improved ^__^
